Posts: 1169 Location: New Hope MN | Enjoy! Video Description: Anglers know the muskellunge by any number of colorful descriptions, including the fish of a thousand casts. Not so commonly known is the precarious route that this fish must take before it winds up at the end of the line. The muskellunge story begins at the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources' Minor E. Clark Fish Hatchery near Morehead. "Kentucky Afield" cameras follow the process from spawning in the laboratory setting to releasing into lakes and streams. This segment features Hatchery Manager Rod Middleton along with Sarah Terry, the angler who caught Kentucky's state record muskellunge.

Location: Green Bay, WI | COOL video! Those Kentucky biologists sure like to electroshock fish though...lol. Three separate times for each fish, it appears. Makes you realize that in fact these fish are hardier than we sometimes give them credit for. Great video--thanks for posting! TB

Location: Green Bay, WI | Yea, I caught that part as well. I'm guessing they were speaking the vernacular of the common man...as in, non-biologists. TB

Posts: 559 | I thought going to the Doc was bad. I don't think I could put up with that much handling.

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | When you see what an involved process it is to stock our lakes, and how long and difficult it is for a fish to reach large size, it's no wonder so many have a hard time with a catch and kill mentality. If they could easily reproduce themselves it would be one thing, but seeing what it takes should give a little pause.
