We've got first week. Lot's of scouting to do yet, but Toms are still together. One week from today! gobble, gobble, gobble.......BOOM!

Location: Oconto Falls, WI		The way the weather has been I wish we had first week. I have second week this year and am interested to see what the hunting will be like with this abnormal spring. Last year during the third week we had snow/sleet and 30° for the first two days in the south west part of the state!

Location: NW WI		IFS Jr. took part in a DNR/school sponsored mentor hunt last weekend. He now says he likes to hunt turkeys more than deer.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI		Can't wait!! Not so much for me, I probably won't hunt, but for my 10 year old. He killed a hen with his bow in the fall but that's not the same as a tom coming in gobbling his head off. I've got my eye on one for him, double beard and white barred feathers in his tail. It's likely the brother of the one I killed last spring that had the same white feathers and was a monster with 1.5" spurs/27.25 pounds but not a double beard.

Nice one Jr! Yep, it's pretty fun hunting gobblers again with my daughter. I quit for about 15 years, and had forgotten how much fun it was. Good luck to all this year.

Location: north metro, MN		I hope the birds will still be strutting around on the 18th. I am sure they will but this weather is keeping me on edge. None the less come the morning of the 18th I will be in the blind over looking the decoys with the stick and string in hand.

It's definitely cool when it all comes together. I'm hoping they're easier to come by with the warmer weather we've had. I'd prefer to fish, but it's still pretty fun.

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin		Going up to my land on the 12th of April with my daughter and a few others. I got the second season so they get first crack at the Toms. My buddy and I will hunt on and off between land projects from April 16-22nd. Tree planting, couple small ponds, lots of tree cutting, drip edge for trailer, seeding some clover, brushing out some shooting lanes and new stands are all on the list besides hunting. Would be cool to shoot a big turkey but way too much to get done too sit in the woods every day until I fill my tag. Mornings will be turkey time until breakfast, then its work until dark. Owning land is great. Making it the best habitat around to bring in the biggest deer takes years of work. Half way there now, full steam ahead......

scouted last weekend in sw wisc. lots of toms out strutting etc. pretty quiet in the early mornings before flydown though. 1st period for me. should be a good one. fyi: ticks are really bad already.

Birds are gobbling hard and seen one mounting a hen already, come season I'm predicting some lonely gobblers that will be running to the calls. I can't wait!
