I was wondering what were the best lures, speed, locations etc for trolling this time of year in this slightly warmer spring?

If you are fishing a shad based lake, shad lures work well like tuff shads and lil ernies. Small wileys and myers musky lures are good too.

| 2 of the biggest fish ever caught in my boat In May were trolling MX6's 3.5-3.8mph.
Last May the first 3 fish in my boat were trolling Diesels 3.5mph. Big Games 7" twitch and Zach Bakers small crankbait early was good also.
If its cloudy try trolling over the new weeds shortline or just off the weed edge. Sunny-Open water.
Good luck

The 5.5" Wiley lure has a good track record in the East. It would probably work anywhere.

I think Gregg Thomas just wrote an article about spring trolling in this month's Musky Hunter. I have yet to read it. He did a few segments in his "Spring Muskies" DVD.
