Red eyes, green eyes, gold eyes.......no eyes!

I have many lures that in time have lost there eyes......How important is this?

Relax Jason,
No matter what color eyes they have, the lures cannot SEE out of them(disregard all those tales Sworrall has filled your head with while in the boat).

IM A BIG BELIEVER IN RED EYES AND THINK LOCATION CAN AT TIMES BE IMPORTANT. I TRY TO KEEP LOCATION ON MOST BAITS AS NATURAL AS POSSIBLE. DOES IT WORK? DONT KNOW BUT DOESN'T HURT

I don't know where to stand, I think if they are prizm eyes that is good, but some of my best lure dont have eyes anymore let alone much paint. For some reason they still out produce others.

I have an ernie that has a gold eye on one side and a red one on the other. Trying to figure out which side the fish hit.[:0]

I know a guy that puts multiple eyes on his baits??Why he says its what catches the fishs attention.

I don't know for sure. Suicks have no distinct eyes on the baits but they catch like the best, eddie baits have NO eyes and they catch, I put 1/2" diameter stick-on eyes on mine and they catch, I have bauts with tiny eyes because I ran out of larger ones and those baits catch, I have a baby DR that has one eye left (amazingly it it the left eye and now it keeps swimming to the right as well!) and it never caught better than it does now, my favourite swim whizz lures have no eyes left, ... I think the pattern gets the fishes attention, not the eyes.

What ever give you confidence!!!!

Personally, I could care less if the lure can see.

Mr. Smith, you are trying to bait me here...

There are articles out there from about a decade ago insisting that the larger predator fish actually target the eyes when they strike. If that is so, one needs to put eyes EVERYWHERE on the lure so they do not miss!

Here's lookin' at ya....[] [:knockout:]

A good friend of mine insists its the anal vent not the eyes that turn the fish on...break out the red paint![:praise:]

Now I know what I'm gonna do. Gonna put the anal vent on the front of the lures and the eyes on the bottom.

Why you ask?

Heck any self-respecting musky will be obligated to strike - trying to put the poor dumb creature out of it's misery....[:0] [:sun:] [;)] [:p]

G-man, my dad likes to put an anal vent on his baits. I always tell him that's his signature.[]

I agree with Schwartz. Makes no difference. My best lures have not had eyes for a while. Confidence make the difference

You should remove the eyes on all your baits! Muskies often stalk their prey and the won't strike with the lure staring at them the entire time ...

If they think their prey can't see them, that's when they're going to eat ...

(This theory comes from my buddy Scott - who, btw, actually doesn't remove his baits eyes)

The Eye's off a Sponge Bob Little Night Time Hugging Stuffy or the wifes Diamond's from the attachment ring! Quit worring about the eyes,Time On The Water, now go launch!
