Have fished many years but newer to muskie fishing. I need a decent reel but don't want to break the bank either. Would mate with either a 7 1/2-8 foot pole. I have a little credit on an Abu Garcia and can apply it towards another. Which Abu would be good for a novice like me who wants to get better? (p.s. I hate backlashes)

I have been fishing with some Abu records for the last couple of years. Although I mainly throw my callcuta and toro the records have seen many hours and held up nicely. I would recommend the record 60 high capacity, which also comes with a nice power handle and retails dor about 165 or if you keep you eye out you can find them on eBay for around 100-120.

The Record 60 is an obvious choice if you can afford it. If the money is tight, 6500C3 for under $100.
