i'm having trouble getting the 4.1 upgrade to take? is there a problem that i'm using an old 3.0 version and might have missed a few updates in process? do i need to go back and install old ones?

doesn't seem like my unit is recognizing the card? is there a way to force it to read card and run from the unit, if it doesn't recognize it when i just turn unit on?

any other trouble shooting suggesions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Are you sure you have the update on the card? A common mistake is you might think you have it on the card but it's not. To double check, click start, my computer and click on the card to make sure the update is on the card.

Were the cards clear when you put the update on? Also, make sure the card is not locked. Sometimes when you push the card in the deal on the side of the card will slide, locking the card and preventing information from being read. Unit should be off, hit power and it should take.

Typically the update isn't on the card if the unit doesn't accept the update.

Format the card as well and push the card in real gentle. It could be locking when you slide in and unlocking when you pull it out. I know you said your sure the update is on the card, but that's the only other thing I can think of, pretty common deal. Otherwise give Lowrance CS a call, they'll be able to assist you in the next step if the problem continues.

you were right TJ....even though it looked like the file was on the card. i had to open the file, and save it to the card...which looks like it brought down 2 more files....now it updating my unit as we speak....looks like it should work.
I'm a happy man!

tj- if i was running 3.0 for last year and missed 1-2 updates, will i notice anything much different to the unit today? run a little faster at all... or is all that with the gen 2 units.

This document will tell you about each of the updates.

On page 27 it'll tell you about version 3.5 that was released September 2010, version 4.0 released April 2011 is on page 12, version 4.0 patch improvements on page 11 that was released June 2011 and version 4.1 released February 2012 on pages 1-11.
