Okay, for all of you gill killers--particulary the king of the gill killers--with ice water in your veins: Isn't it unusual to catch a northern pike after dark? I'm responding to the current video, of course. What is your experience?

Pretty unusual but not unheard of. Kind of like a pike swimming with its head out of the water. Not an everyday occurance but most people have experienced it.

We do pretty well on larger Pike after dark on some water during the winter. If we spend the night on the right water, we expect to catch a couple, but not as many as in the daylight and the quality is usually better.

On most lakes, gators after dark is a rarity. You might get the random confused or angry northern that takes a swipe at your bait, but you're better off spending your time targeting crappies or eyes at night.
