How many different blank manufacturers are there? I know some companies just tie their rods on blanks made by other companies, so it made me curious as to who actually makes their own blanks.

Tackle Industries has blanks available now. $80 and a special if you buy 5+ blanks (mix and match powers as you want). I designed and sourced all raw materials for my rods too. There are already a few custom builders picking them up. Jeremy with Tuscarora has already built a few and is building a few more for Jason at the Michigan Musky shop.

One other very popular builder is making a test rod now but he is waiting to announce depending on his final rod look, feel and performance.

TI rod blanks are as light or lighter and as durable as the premium rod blanks out there. I just don't spend $100k+++ a year on advertising and that helps me price my rods/blanks (and lures) much more affordable. As for my rod blank costs, my raw materials cost about as much as what goes into a premium rod blank due to the materials I buy. Nothing cheap and if I did not design it then I bought it from a top brand company like Fuji or other.

You can also find a lot of other blanks on Mud Hole. As you will see, many are not for musky fishing but many could be and some are built for musky.
