Posts: 1060 Location: Palm Coast, FL | I had clients in the past that came really close and finally this past year it happened. Josh claimed the prize of 2011 Indiana Muskie of the Year in this picture with his friend Wayne. The fish was caught using a Migizi fishing rod and measured in at 48.5". Wayne also got his personal best 3 months later with me but was short by 1/4" of this fish. Congrats Josh (and Wayne) on a great Indiana muskie! Posts: 242 | Hmmm....this is a nice fish, but I know of some 50 inchers that were caught out of Indiana this year. So what is the Indiana Muskie of the Year title based on? Obviously, not size. Photo quality? Was it caught from a lake that supposedly has no Muskie? Caught on bluegill tackle? I'm just curious.

Posts: 147 Location: Chesterton, Indiana | These are all good questions. My boat has seen two fish larger this year and both in indiana this year alone. One of the fish was caught by a person fishing on spinning gear his first time musky fishing and was 49.5". The smaller fish was 48.75".

Posts: 242 | I Google "Indiana Muskie of the Year," but didn't find any governing body that issues the award. Do you mind suppling a link or web site? I want to see past years winners as well. Thanks!

Posts: 242 | That's a pretty cool program. PA lists the big fish caugth over the past year, but I am not sure they give any titles or awards for it. Congratulations to the angler!
