I'm in search of a rod that can handle mammoth curly sues and also the 2-Pounder bull dawg.
Just wondered if the TI xxh could handle it, but a friend of mine sayed it is to soft for it because of the moderate fast taper...

I would recomend the Musky Innovations Pro Series Monster Mag rod rated XXH 8oz- 40oz they were made for throwing giant baits. Great for pounders or 2 pounders. If you can't buy where you are PM me and I can help get you set up. (will have to check on shipping to Germany...)

I believe the new ones are like 17.5" so about the same as TI slightly shorter.

For the past 3 years I've been using a 9'8" Thorne bros XH predator paired with a Shimano 16dc Trinidad for my 2lber/mammoth sue rod. There is absolutely no need for a XXXXH rod for throwing these baits it actualy works aginst you when trying to throw a huge bait. When casting 2lbers you want the rod to load on the cast to take some of the work out of hucking them then when a fish is hooked you've got some give in the rod when fighting fish. |

| I have the TI XXH 9' rod and I am able to cast 2 Pounders with in. The rod is rated up to 36 ounces and that seems like a true rating. Unfortunately, casting a 2 Pounder with any rod is a killer, so I can't do it for long, but I think you'll find that the TI XXH can handle the load (plus the extra long 18" rear handle really helps when casting). |

I will work on it  :-D---> no just fun, but I love throwing baits witch are larger than the average size of a pike here and all people I know are shaking their heads about that :-D
I think this time of the year SHE has something about 55 to 60 pounds, but who knows thats not important.

You'd be better off going with a telescoping rod or something 8' or less if buying direct from U.S. I'd recommend trying Ben's tackle in the Netherlands, they have rods that can handle that amount of weight (PM79XXXHF or PM86XHF). |

Just an FYI but Franglais Fishing now carries my rods in Europe. If you have a special request just email Steve and I am sure he can get you the rod you want with his next order. I will also be getting Steve my new 2-piece rods in about 8 weeks. Those will be easier to ship as well as the 9' rod breaks down to 2 4.5' long pieces and FedEx does not charge extra for the over length with these.
