Hi,
There is a 2005 Stratos 375 XF boat for sale locally near me at a dealer. The price is $14,995 and it is equipped with a Yamaha 115 2-stroke. I am not crazy about getting a 2 stroke, but I have heard the Yamaha 2 stroke is a pretty good motor. When I look at the trade in, it comes in at $13,900, but that's for a 2006 model with a 135 HP package. For some reason, there isn't a 2005 listed in NADA, so not sure about that. THe dealer says the titles say 2005.

Anyhow does anyone have this boat? If so, what are your thoughts? Also, what about the 2-stroke Yamaha? I had a 2000 Johnson 115 2-stroke on my last boat and it seemed to really suck the gas. I know that a lot of it depends on how you drive the boat.

The boat really looks clean, but I think I would have to upgrade the trolling motor and also add a chartplotter. I had thought about offering 13k. Here is a link to the boat.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

I think any two stroke will suck the gas. If you are going to do a lot of trolling or long runs i think this will make a difference. If you are just fishing small inland lakes i dont see where you will notice that much more gas consumption. Looks like a good clean boat at a great price. I might start lower than 13,000 you never know what kind of deal u will get. mention things to the dealer about things u are going to need to replace and add. The worst he can say to your offer is no and then renngotiate. GOOD LUCK!

I have owned my 375 xf since it was brand new in 2007. I have a 2 stroke e tech 115 hp. I do a lot of trolling on michigan as well as walleye and musky fishing in norther WI. The boat is truly a great all around fishing/family boat. With the 115 it will jump out and do just under 50 mph, great for skiing and tubing. I have also found that the boat is very nice and open for any additions you may want to do yourself. I have added electronics, downriggers, rod holders and a stand alone kicker system. The boat is laid out very nice where it is fairly easy to run wires, gas lines etc. I would highly recommend getting the boat, especially if you have a family that will join you on it-fishing or not. Good luck. [email protected]

A friend of mine has that boat (w/side console) that he uses on St. Clair. He told me he likes the boat but wished he got it with the full walk-through windshield because he gets a lot of spray in the boat.

When I was looking at Stratos boats at Cabelas the sales guy told me that Stratos stopped making the 375 because it was a bad hull design. Not sure if that's true or not but they haven't made that model since 2008 or 2009.
