| Is it possible or easy to network a new HDS unit on the console with an older LCX25 on the bow? Will the lakemaster chips still work in both units? Any info is appreciated. I already have two LCX 25s in the boat and wanted to upgrade the console unit. Thanks. |

| They can share waypoints and gps ant info through the network but not sonar which needs to go through the ethernet. Your 25 has network connections but not ethernet. It may have a marked ethernet port but has the wrong connector and will not work. So I was told. Maps are never shared.

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Yes. The HDS Gen 2 will network with an LCX and like 4amuskie said, the Ethernet will not work, you can't share sonar readings with these two units. Lakemaster chips are still compatible until supplies last from what I've been told so far. |

| SO you could network them to share the antenna, but there would be no need to purchase the eithernet box? My antenna is an older LGC2000(whatever model came with the LCX25) I believe. Any info is appreciated. I can afford to maybe upgrade the console unit, but not both at this time.

| I see the LCX 25 is NMEA 2000 capable, so you could share the antenna thru the NMEA network, but it would require some wiring changes, the HDS no longer powers the NMEA network like the LCX did. The LCX NMEA power has to be disconnected then a separate NMEA power node is needed, this will power the NMEA network so the 2000 puck is powered up. There is limited waypoint sharing thru the NMEA network. |
