| what type of pliers do you leader makers use to make the nice round ends on single strand steel ??
a fella told me he uses jewelers pliers, but did not tell me if it's the full round nose or 1/2 round ???
i would like to make my own leaders over the winter, i go thru 2 / day and they are not cheap to buy
thanks

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Buy some Knipex full round nose pliers at your favorite hardware store. Knipex hold up better than about any other pliers I have tried. |

Location: Madtown, WI | I don't think it matters, just need something round to bend the wire around. I'd go full round but if all they got is 1/2 you're fine. I got a cheap pair off ebay and it's held up fine even with bucktail wire. |

| thanks guys
i will be ordering the knipex this wk. it's going to be a long winter.
i went thru a truckload of leaders this past yr , more then any yr,
this was due to the massive amt of pike caught and the lack of musky |

| have never seen the round nose pliers in any hardware store, they think i'm an alien when i ask for one:)
i need steel leaders, flouro is not what i need , fouls my glide baits too much compared to steel.
i have flouro but it is used bait specific
thanks for the info , i have ordered some round nose from a supplier, i'm sure that will take mths for delivery
