Still have my boat in. Looks like there is about an inch of ice around the boat. A barge plowed through the channel and broke up the ice. With the warming weather this week could i keep the boat in until Satuday????

What bay is your boat in? The open water such as Wayzata Bay usually freezes up later than the smaller bays like Greys. It seems the larger bays usually stay open about a week later, but not always. Sometimes the whole lake can ice over in a couple of days.

I expect the warmer weather approaching 50 degrees should melt it off by this weekend. Next week could be trouble though when it cools back down. Time is running out.

I'm hoping for one more outing on Tonka this weekend before I put the boat away. Don't expect to catch much, but one never knows unless one tries.

Good luck.

Let's see, I saw it half way down the channel between Black and Seton lakes:

the bad news.....your already kinda late and a half mile from freedom....
the good news...it won't get any worse the next few days !

I was out all day yesterday and thanks ot the unseasonably warm weather...outside of some rouge patches in still spots the lake is ice free. Temps were anywhere from 37-40. I was as far west as Halsteads and as Far east as the east side of Big Island. The Seton Channel was ice free.
