| I'm thinking about doing some trolling next season and was curious if the scotty rod holders on my Lund sport tracks would be enough to handle pulling some midsized crakbaits? Would I maybe need to loosen my drags up some or do I need a different setup all together? If the scotty's aren't enough are there any other ideas for a rod holder setup to be used with the sport tracks?
Thanks,

| Don't do it! The scotty holders are fine but the sport track is not strong enough. I had a fish hit in mid November some years ago and instantly broke the bracket. I lost the fish, the lure, the rod, the reel, the holder and the bracket. I tried for several hours hoping to snag the 90' of line that was out when it happened but no luck. It was a very sickening feeling to say the least. I installed rails after that. The Lund brackets are tempting because they are so convenient and versatile but I found out the hard way that they are not up to the task. Hope this helps. |

| If you loosen ur drag u should be fine. I have snagged up trolling with mine and never broke one yet but I guess anything is possible. I have snagged multiple times at 3.5-4mph and done nothing but double my rod over and pull drag

Location: Hayward, WI | Extreme Max makes a bracket for the Sport Trac that is stronger then the Lund ones. |

| Anybody else have an opinion on this? I have the ram holders with the extention mounted on my boat. Can it handle pulling the big jointed thundersticks and 7.5 inch grandmas at 5 mph or less? |

| I have been trolling big baits from 3 to 5mph on sport tracks with the Salty rod holders for a few years now. Never had a problem. Snagged a bunch, still no problems. |
