Posts: 1058 Location: Medford, WI | Yes, they did get around a foot of snow, but that doesn't mean the lakes froze up or that the snow couldn't all be gone by tomorrow. Just not sure why it snowing somewhere would make you completely change your trip. Good luck wherever you end up getting out. -Jake

Perfect time to be Northern, WI! Lakes will be open, cicoes will be spawning, big fish will be biting. I would fish right now with 10 inches of snow in my boat! Don't let snow ruin your trip!

Stay north. The three lakes mentioned have been spotty this fall with regarding to fish action. Heck take a shovel, sand and salt to the launch.

Posts: 1141 Location: NorthCentral WI | I am in the Pelican lake area and am looking forward to fishing around here this weekend. We got 11" out my door the other day and probably half of it has melted. The way I see it, this snow will push more guys into the woods, leaving the lakes open for me. Question: Does anyone know the closest lake nearby Pelican Lake/Rhinelander area that contains ciscos? I've always wanted to fish a lake with the much talked about "cisco spawn." There just aren't any around me and I'm never big on driving more than 45 minutes or so just for a day of fishing. Edited by MartinTD 11/11/2011 12:22 PM

Closest to Rhinelander w/ muskies & ciscoes I can think of is Two Sisters. There may be more, but I can't recall at the moment. sc

Glad you at least have a sense of humor, sometimes it's hard to tell. The landings and landing roads were a little testy. Actually, very testy. Melting over the next couple days though.
