Location: Grafton, WI | I have a basically new trailer under my 1800, but the new house has a garage door that's just a bit too tight.
I have a CRV30BLRW (W = wide stance) - brakes and swing toungue
Looking for a CRV30BLR or a SLB30BL
From talking to a couple dealers, the 1700, 1750, 1800 and 1850 models can use either of these trailers
Probably a shot in the dark here, but have to try before buying a new one.

Again, might be a shot in the dark, but shaving off those 6 inches would be huge.... Here's a couple pics of the trailer I have.

| I've got a 2011 Fish hawk 1650 w/the standard trailer and wouldnt be opposed to trading out if it worked, but i'm guessing its not going to be the trailer you need, it doesnt have brakes. |

Location: 31 | I can only think of three options if you're shot in the dark doesn't work.
1. Trading in this trailer for the one you need seems the most viable.
2. Check out the feasibility of taking your trailer to a welding shop and having them move/relocate the swing back tight to the tower, obviously this would involve some fabrication and relocation of the brake components.
3. Check out the feasibility of cutting out an area between the studs on the back wall of your garage for the outboard motor to fit into.

I have an all roller Shoreland'r that is a 2300 lb trailer (does not have brakes but they could be added). It would be the same capacity as yours, it just doesn't have the brakes, therefore the lower capacity.
I have been looking to add brakes to mine.
What is the overall width from outside to outside edge of the wheels? I think mine might be the same width which would then rule it out.. If memory serves me, Mine is 101" or something close to that.

| Any chance you could widen your opening and install a new 9 foot door? Might be less than the hit you'll take trading trailers.
A new 9 X 7 door is less than $400. New header and misc materials would be another $100 or so. You could also go to an 8 foot high door if you don't have one now. |

Location: Grafton, WI | I have a 9 x 8 garage door now - but after the trim, weather stripping, etc., it's just over 105". My trailer is 102.5" - which leaves me 1.25" on each side.
It's do-able, and I'm doing it, but there are going to be times that extra 5" will really be nice.

| I feel your pain! I have the same issue, my trailer leaves me 2 inches on each side and for now, the best thing I can tell you is that I just try to get my tires in and then I unhook the trailer pick up on the tongue and push it in by hand. My outboard is heavy enough that it balances out. Another option is that if you have concrete in front of your door, harbor freight makes a trailer dolly for like $30 and it works very well. It always made me nervous because when it's on the truck if you bump into the side, it's already too late, whereas by hand the worst you are probably going to do is scratch something up. Good luck! |
