Fish health and false marketing
A 20 pound pike being dragged around for hours in a carpsack for a dobble fortoshoot, or the use baitfish caught pikes as Christmas trees for artificial lures. This is some of the ruthless marketing strategies used by some danish tackle makers, in their race to become the next Rapala(without having Rapalas profound qualities)
A biologist and staff member arrested and put in handcuffs by the Norweigian police for crossing the border with non native baitfish, a country where the use of live bait is prohibited, luckily the police avoided the risk of an ecological disaster.
This is some of the questions the European Esox society of today is faced with, after old rumors have been embodied by several eye witnesses as well as the police.
As an NGO at http://bæredygtigtfiskeri.dk (you could call me an Esox environmentalist), is it my duty to fight for the Esox stocks, but in contrary to the US/CAN, do we not have very sophisticated fishing regulations over here, so it wonders me, why the poeple in the industry over here, cares so little about our fish stocks.
I resent years some of these companies has tried to get foothold on the US musky market, selling a whole range of copy products developed by European Carp anglers, and tested on jack pikes. We have a free market, but the freedom is dependent on what the consumers know, and I just think the US consumers should know that greed and care of our nature is the on the agenda here. I love my country and it's nature, so this is why I sincerely want to stop these procedures over here used by the industry.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | That's not 'ruthless', it's how it's been done world wide for years. Photo shoots many time use fish over and over in sets, and those fish may not have been caught by anyone in the shoot. Can't speak to the biologist or what you are talking about there.
Magazines have done the same thing. TV shows too. Brochure shoots for marine products companies, media shoots for same. I've been to three in the last year where penned fish were available for use in the shoot.
None were bait companies, but you get my point. |

In fact, this post was not really written by sworrall, he found it on a tie flying blog, complaining about worm fishing catches, and how they are adapted for flashy fly ads and brochures for vacation spots, and he simply re-used the same post.
Similar to the way he "adapted" that post he used on his outdoor underwear site, "Flannel Thongs First"...
