These are some lures that my son painted. He just recently bought an airbrush and the top pic is of some baits he repainted. The bottom pic is a lure he made with a jigsaw and dremel. Once he gets some tools Im sure they will get better.

I don't know how old your kid is, or if he has used an airbrush before, it doesn't matter. The kid can paint, very nice work. As far as tools, They may speed the time it takes to produce a blank, but even using what he has, he will get better and better just from repetition -experience and trial and error. Getting pickier with details etc. Look forward to seeing more.

Thanks--he had never used an airbrush before so he is quite happy with the results--He is really into the making of his own baits right now so will give him some time and see what he comes up with---going to get a band saw and table sander--that should help alot with the shaping anyway. Thanks again and I just hev to say that you guys turn out some unbelievable stuff and it is easy to see why others get excited about trying it themselves. JIM

Your son is a master at the brush on his first run. Awesome colors and patterns he has made.

The lures he cut out look just fine. Has he tested them out in the water to see how they run!!

He has done a tremendous job. You should have him create his own log on and he can post stuff on his own and chat with the rest of us!!!

Muddy--yes he is going to join in the site and spend some time on here---He has just been busy but liked the fact that I posted some of his work. He has weighted the baits and is working on a couple more designs and will be testing them next week on a MUSKY outing---so after that he will have some IDEAS on what he did right and what went wrong. All part of the fun I guess. the repaints he will keep working on as we have plenty of used baits around that could be re-done. I know he has a grandma, Crane and Big game that I gave him to re-paint so those should be coming along shortly.

Here are my latest----Top 1 is a repaint GRANDMA I did with my first attempt at the painted scale effect. The Other 2 are original designs I made out of BASSWOOD and painted them up---Have yet to get any actuall testing on them yet but I weighted them in the bathtub. Hope they work and will try them shortly.
