Hi

Just joined and am stunned by the quality of some of the home made lures. can any one direct me to a site that has well made wooden blanks for crank baits i have been though all the links on this site and see a few are they any good ? Also they all seem to be made of balsa are they any good ? i like a lure that has some weight to cast and has a good sink rate / rattle / .

i am in the uk so i have to buy most online dont know any shops in the uk

i dont have a lot of space to carve my own but would love find good well waited blanks for me to paint

also any suggestions on a good lure making book

many thanks

UK Pikeboy, I am new as well and have been lurking some baits as well. I have found some that look promising. Tackle Industries & Saltybugger.com Hope this helps.

I have a lot of blanks but all of mine are made from ABS high impact plastic. You can find some blanks on the various lure component sites but most of those are smaller lures. Your best bet is right here OR make your own. They are real easy to make. I have $300 in equipment (band saw, router, sander) and I can make almost anything. My buddy has a small lathe and he makes me stick baits if I want them out of dowels and then rounds off the ends. email me if you want me to put together a package of my blanks for you. Happy to help.

What kind of blanks are you looking for? Dimensions? I may be able to help.
