| I've yet to catch a musky on the smaller lakes that I fish while the lake's are "turning over." It seems as though the musky's have no interest in any type of lure or live-bait, it's quite the mind-boggler head shaker. Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated. Location: 15 miles east of Lake Kinkaid | IMO Pedro is right. Try shallw. If shallow is not working....try super shallow (less than 1.5"). If your boat gets stuck you are probably in the right place. If that is not working...BenR's post would apply. |

Location: Maple Grove, MN | I second the super shallow advice. We've actually caught Muskies within feet of the shoreline during turn-over. At times one wonders how the water could even be deep enough to hold them or why they are even there.
It may sound stupid, but one thing to watch for at that time of year is nervous ducks sitting near the shoreline. Especially ducks that are scampering out of the water and making a racket. It seems they don't like Muskies very much.

Location: oswego, il | Pedro and Ben are both right. Try shallow if that lake is your only option or try somewhere else where turnover has less or not affected. |

| Yea, I should try some other lakes but it's the' ole' "never give up never surrender"(where is that quote from anyway?) attitiude that puts me in the position of having to put a musky in the net during turn-over. Anyway, I'll pitch some lures more in the shallow water and we'll see what happens. Thinking some large maribou's might be the' ole' golden ticket. |
