I had a couple, spent more time getting repaired than on the rig. When they work they are incredible, but the complicated build gave Minn Kota fits keeping them running.

I like mine and haven't had any issues, but you either got a good one or they went to the shop as Steve said.

I had one. Incredible motor when it worked! Never has been one so convenient to use. BUT! It was always broken and I ruined two Canadian vacation trips in a row after it was freshly repaired! The computer would get confused, switches wouldn't operate, or would perform the wrong function. The motor would lock up and you couldn't turn it on unless you hit a mystical combination of switches and then it would run for a couple hundred feet and stop again. There was a hard reboot sequence that "should" restore the unit to functioning that never worked. In a word, it was a piece of "equipment" that never should have seen the light of day.

If you have a chance to get one of these, turn, and run away as fast as you can. There are no words to describe how sorry you'll be if you don't. Unless you are feeling lucky, then go for it, but you have been warned.

A wise choice I think! The Terrova is a beast. The new sonar transducer is much better than the first design many years ago. I've used one since 2008 and they are a joy to run. Strong, and dependable. Remember to get an extra prop for for just in case. It only takes a momentary lapse in concentration around boulders and a plastic prop can be dinged up pretty good, and you don't want to be spinning an unbalanced prop, just like with you outboard.
