Subject: LCX 25 problem rading depth

My LCX 25 on the bow with universal sonar is losing depth readings and flashing 60 feet usually in shallow water. Sometimes when I move the boat out deeper it will read depth, sometimes it will still flash 60 fow. Any ideas what is causing the problem. I recall some guys having this issue a while back due to the software version they were using. Both my units have the same software version and the back unit doesn't lose depth at all. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry for the typo. Could it be a bad transducer, or software issue?

Sounds like a transducer to me. One thing to check though, does the unit have the issue with the back unit shut down?

Thanks Steve, I was kind of thinking the same thing. I'll take it out one more time and try a few things before I have the US transducer replaced.

I have a slightly different isse. Mine will read depth Ok then will stop and flash at the last depth for a few seconds/minutes and then start reading properly again. The transducer is not in the trolling motor it's on the stren. Any ideas?

Do you have the unit on the shallow water setting under sonar features?

I don't believe I do, but don't remember for sure.
