| If I were to put new wood, wiring, and carpet in an old Esox Ltd, could you give me some estimates how many hours and $$ this might be? Let's say marine quality plywood, sealer, and a decent carpet. |

| Sputterbug,
We did the same thing to my brothers Pacecraft. Believe it or not, it doesn't take much. Once you rip the old wood out, then your wiring is a breeze. Redo and put wiring where you want it, rebuild boxes, new pumps, hoses, etc. The marine plywood is expensive, but go with it. Carpeting he got at Bass Pro (they were having a close out). Glued it down, put everything back in ~ and it looks like a new boat seriously. It took a couple of us about a week, that was only 2-3 hours at night. Probably less than $300.
P.s. TIP: when you screw the plywood down ~do not~ I repeat do not use screws with questionable proper length.
this is a secret, I put (12) tiny holes from the screw tips threw the side of the boat. Thank god for fiberglass, fixed holes and no ones the wiser. Do not tell him.

| Cool. I was thinking maybe $600. 3 sheets of marine plywood? $80 x3 = $240, and carpet is about that much, plus misc. items, but sounds like I can shop around. Of course, I have to buy the boat first , but that looks possible.
Thanks for the repair advice. Ironic if I "repaired" one and it sank. [:knockout:] |

| Anyone know of a decent book or web site with instructions on this? I've been looking hard, but hitting all around the topic. Maybe I'm making too big a deal of this, but I'd feel more secure with a how-to.
