| I have used surface lures at night most of my life yet i wonder if im wasting my time and if i should be throwing something else. Whats the best night fishing baits and why? Do muskies feed off vibration at night or do they see well in the dark? Whats a good color for the night? Are night fishing areas different then spots you would fish in the day? Any kinda knowledge would be nice really. |

| I also use top waters, but I will also use the big double bladed bucktails (cowgirl and supermodel type) and in some instances I like crankbaits. I have found that finding fish during the day has helped me find them at night. They may not be in the exact same spot, but they are usually not too far off. |

| Any bait will work as people even catch them on Dawgs at night. How much noise does a hunk of plastic make? Not much and they still find them just fine as they push enough water to get noticed.. |

| Trost lures double irritator from MTO. add a mag #8 or mag #10 blade and a salt shaker shad tail and you have the noisiest spinnerbait out there. the vibration and thump you get from this spinnerbait is like no other spinnerbait out there. |

| pretty much any lure that's good in the daytime will be fine at night. only ones i won't use are erratic lures that make it harder for a fish to zero in on, so basically that means jerkbaits. my faves at night? big rubbers like steve said, legend perchbaits and cisco kids, big blades, jakes, and of course topwaters. creepers globes and hog-wobbler types are killer! |

| Crankbaits are another great option. I have been using MX9's from Muskietrain over the weeds after dark and geting fish. Spanky's and Cowgirls are both great baits for after dark. Have also done well on Ace tandem spinnerbaits. If the water is clearer, I have done well on Big Joes and Dawgs after dark also. If you have lighted shorelines or full moon brighter colors are good but if its real dark all black or dark colors work better for me.
