Posts: 1224 Location: Okoboji | I sold my winch and am going to pick up a saltist today. I am looking at the 20 or 30,,the 30 seems too large in hand to me, is there any difference pulling blades with the 20 vs 30? And where would be a good place to get one around the twin cities?

Posts: 157 | I got my Saltist 30 at Thorne Brothers for $175.00 3 years ago. It runs like a champ and has nothing more than normal lubing and cleaning.

Posts: 60 Location: Lake Minnetonka | Guts are the same, but drag system isn't as big in the 20HA which is what you'll burn out. Go with the bigger one if you want to throw blades. Can get good deals on this site for used ones. If you want something for the price range you are looking in exclusively for blades go with the Saltist 30TH. Non-level wind but had a guy that was only his 2nd time muskie fishing in the boat 2 days ago, and picked it up right away. With your skills, won't be a problem

I just bought the 20 from Thorne Bros. They have them marked down $25 right now. You can't find a better reel for the money.
