The PMTT Mercury Marine Summer challenge on the Eagle River Chain has always been one of the top producers on the PMTT trail each year and this year seems to be the same. Of the 98 teams registered to compete in the tournament they boated 24 muskies up to 48.5” including 3 doubles on day one. It was a tough week of prefishing with cold front after cold front with rain, but with the high skies heating up the water today the fish seemed to respond. Tomorrow seems to be even better and expect the bite to get even better.

Tony Puccio and Mike Pecosky lead with the 48.5” with Jerome Morris and Jake Bucki in 2nd tied for points but losing the tie breaker. Complete details, photos and information to follow shortly on the PMTT website at http://www.promusky.com/results/2011/11ER.htm

PMTT - Mercury Marine’s Summer Challenge.

What an awesome time at the PMTT Mercury Marine Summer challenge on the Eagle River Chain as the anglers registered 42 muskies up to 48.5”during the tournament. The team of Tony Puccio and Mike Pecosky won more then $15,000 in cash with the two biggest fish of the tournament at 43” & 48.5” to also hold off the team of Dewey Stewart and Dennis Sweeney who came upon a hot pattern on day 2 and tripled with several other lost fish and misses. While most of the teams concentrated on weeds, Pecosky & Puccio down sized to small bass size crankbaits and schools of baitfish. They had to use spinning reels and light line to get their baits down deep enough and it proved to be the winning pattern.
