Subject: Wisconsin's best musky waters?

I go on a trip to nothern part of wisconsin every year. This year I am going in mid July. I have been the the Eagle river chain a couple of times and some other small lakes. I dont have a huge boat, just a tuffy esox so mainly smaller lakes. If you guys have any thoughts or ideas where i should go. I like just all around good musky lakes some smaller fish all around but also some good sized muskys. Any advice helps. Thanks alot.

Location: minocqua, wi.
in the same area i'd suggest the sugar-camp chain, moens chain or the wisconsin river (boom lake). there are a bunch of individual lakes all around the area and lots of choices. the rhinelander area is fantastic and has less pressure than most of the areas further north with as good if-not better overall fishing. lots of people to help you out once you pick too.

Lac Vieux Desert, North Twin, Pioneer, Buckatoben, Kentuck, Boot, Balard, Plum, ER Chain, Cisco Chain, Wildcat...etc.

Most lakes up there have muskies in them, I like to pick a geographic location and fish 3-4 fish in the area in any one day. Most lakes are like 5 minutes from one another and you can "hop" without any real difficulty.

I've never fished the Rhinelander area lakes, but I'd imagine that the same rule applies.

If you want to fish the best water for action and size lost land and teal is a tuff lake to beat. Fish are on average between 38 and 45 and are very easy to fish from a small boat. go to hayward and pick your lake they all rock and they are all different in their own way and almost everyone would be perfect with the boat you own. Vilas county is the same way only with more cisco lakes and they are famous for monster fish in little waters . Good luck!
