Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start for casting st clair in the summer? I am not looking to get a guide, just wondering what areas to target.

Start in Anchor Bay. There's fish in there year round. And it's not as overwhelming as trying to look at the whole lake. Launch at Selfridge and start casting. Don't even have to get on plane.

Find where the perch fishermen are catching a lot of perch & the muskies will be near by. In Michigan waters it can be Anchor Bay, the mile roads, the dumps, shipping channel etc. If you have never fished the lake be prepared for the tuna boats. On the Ontario side the Belle River Hump or the weedbeds out from the Thames River are good places. You'll need to watch out for the trollers on the Ontario side.
