Subject: Help the rookie?

I just started fishing muskie last fall and spent all the money to get the gear to get started right (now I need to catch fish to justify $1200 to my wife). Had some good practice last year on White Bear Lake (metro). Had 2 throw my lures and had about 8 follows. Anybody got any tips on how to approach early season muskies? My daughter and I were out there Monday evening and the top water temperature was 78 degrees. I assume with temps like that I should be looking at Summer fishing patterns.
I'm going up to Cass Lake next week where the water will be much cooler and I always see muskies when I'm walleye fishing so I know how to approach them up there. Just looking for any thoughts on how to approach them on the warmer water in the metro.
