Location: musky waters , WI		Looking at puchasing a humminbird si but not sure wich one to get. the 998 is a 8 inch screen and the 898 is a 7 inch screen. Can you notice the diffrence between the two , is it worth the price diffrence for the 998. Any other input would be appreciative.

I have a 998SI on my Consol and an 858 on my bow. My philsophy is to get the biggest you can afford. Does the inch make a huge difference?? Proabably not. Would I trade me 998 for an 898...no way!

When I was looking into them it was about a $400 difference 1250/1650. My take on it was if you are going to spend that much what is another $400? I also agree with Mojo and get the biggest one you can afford!
