I have a 1975 fiberglass 15f tri hull lund fishing boat and just recently got myself a eagle sonar unit. i was wondering if it would be a good idea to bondo/opoxy the transducer to the bottom of my boat or screw it into the bottom of my boat. any advice is much appreciated.

Hi, You need to follow the manufacturer's instructions.

With that said; screwing it to the bottom won't work, you can't have any airspace between the puck & the hull- none! Any airspace what so ever will cause major issues.

Use a good high grade clear epoxy - I don't think Bondo would work to well as there could be air bubbles entrapped in the Bondo. Make sure you have the right location & that the spot is free of dirt & grease.

Here's some helpful doc's. The second one is most detailed- the RTV dam around the puck location is a good idea as it prevents the epoxy from flattening out/flowing away from the puck.

Good luck.
