Posts: 279 | The 6" are generally for the rattle baits or smaller lures so you don't mess the action up. If you are going to buy them I would use the 12".

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | I wouldn't use a leader that has a ball bearing swivel for a jerk/glide bait. The extra weight of the swivel will affect the action of the bait. I would tie the fluoro leader directly to the main line.

Posts: 966 | Use the 12" wire its the one I use from Stealth. It works great. Don't ever use floro on jerkbaits sooner or later you will get bit off. The straight wire helps make your gliders work easier also. Good Luck, Jeff Hanson madisonmuskyguide.com

| What size jerkbait are you using? If it's under 6" I'd consider the spring leader. | |||

Posts: 968 Location: N.FIB | I had charlie who sells a lot of leaders on ebay make me half fluoro, half wire leaders, like the grgg thomas leaders but 12 in long and with a ball bearing swivel, works great for traps, gliders, spinner baits, twitch baits, haven't tried them on any topwater or double tens, deep diving cranks are a no,wanted this type of leader for dawgs for when the fish head hits it won't bite through your fluoro but this leader works great for a lot of baits.

Posts: 366 | Casting55, I don't understand what you gain with a half wire, half fluoro leader? Can you please explain to me why you'd want one? Just curious. Ryan

Posts: 968 Location: N.FIB | Last yr fishing the mad chain throwing a dawg with the gregg thomas leader on I was fishing the dawg deep with long 4 to 5 sec pauses I had a fish hit the head of the bait but also hit the wire part of the leader, missed the fish but the wire on the leader looked like it was bent in several spots from the fishes teeth, wanted a shorter leader cause I don't like that knot going through my rod tip,so I originaly got this leader for throwing dawgs but its working great for ther baits, got a couple fish on kinkaid using it so far, both glider fish.
