| How in the world does one tie knots necessary to make leaders from 7strand? |

| I've seen it done ,but it looks like sh&t .I use crimps ,even double crimps just to make sure of no leader slippedge (is that a word?).So good luck on your quest for ugly knotts on that seven strand.

| if done properly it doesn't look like sh##- i've tied probably a thousand leaders and sucker rigs, and not only it's fast and easy when learned, it's strong. i'd explain how to tie it, but it's one of those things where you have to see it and then practice a few times. if you're worried the knot picks up more weeds (which it doesn't) put a drop of clear nail polish over it...

| A personal e-mail suggested a simple cinch knot. I picked up some small shrink tube to cover the knot to reduce weeds. Today I'll give it a try.
By the way, I bought a leader kit from Rollie and Hellen's - that little tool to control the single strand wire is perfect! |

| I tie a basic square knot w/ the 7 strand + LIGHTLY crimp at both ends w/ a fairly strong crimp in the center...I hung up a Psycho Shad([:(]) about 10 yds off the bank last week...wrapped the 50lb Power Pro around a piece of driftwood + started pulling...the line, not the leader broke...not to say a leader won't break, this time it didn't! | Try the link below. This one is a loop, not a knot which doesn't rely primarily on a crimp for strength. Crimps fail.
