Posts: 67 | As many know, I have been "buying a boat" for months (feels like years). This is what I ended up with. Was between this and an Esox Mag. Got to drive the Esox, went with this one. The Yami tiller handle is better (then the standard Merc 60 handle) and I like the room and depth of the Nav. Pics are dark......just taken today....snow was just starting to fall!! Also, came home with the standard Shorelander trailer, next day called dealer (M&J) and they upgraded me with no hassle......thanks Ray!! This Phoinex trailer is fricken awsome.......trailers better, looks better, chrome wheels (fish like chrome.....LOL), boat sits level on trailer, all welded......they charged me $700 to upgrade, would have paid $1400!! 80lb I-Pilot, still need locaters. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h182/Flattracker60/CR5014.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h182/Flattracker60/CR5015.jpg Edited by materospizza 4/19/2011 4:12 PM

Posts: 485 Location: On my favorite lake! | Very nice! I got a dominator instead of a 1700 tuffy because I liked the full windshield and layout better. Both were great boats. That Navigator is the same type hull as mine and is very stable.

You will love it. I bought a Navigator 165CS in 2007 and wish I would have done it sooner. Very dry ride, excellent detail on the boat. Have not had a single issue with it.

Posts: 67 | M&J had a 75HP Yamaha hanging on a boat when I went to swap trailers.......I cant believe how HUGE that thng is compared to the 70 I bought.......talk about heavy!!

Posts: 392 Location: KY | Looks good! I wish my garage was so clean. You have a blank canvas there. I can see shelves for boxes of baits, and rod holders, and a big net hanging on the wall, and, and,....

nice boat and you should have many great times in it,also if you want to upgrade in the future it looks like you got room for a 20 footer.

Posts: 87 Location: Red Wing, Minnesota | Very nice! Navigators are laid out well for Musky fishing. Yamaha appears to be doing a good job getting rid of bulk in their motors. Congratulations!

Posts: 67 | LOL.....yes, I built the shop (30x50 for the boat. My whole life, I've been storing boats in my Mothers garage, and in my garage in the summer while my truck got parked outside.....no more! The shop should get finished (inside) this summer. I cant wait to enjoy the boat. One quick spin when I got the boat and I can tell I have plenty of motor here. I had heard the Alumacrafts HP rating was low.......this 70 jumped right out on plain with me and the 'ol bag in it!!

Nice boat! I wish Yamaha had the 70 option when I picked my 165 up, but oh well. sc

If you live in MN you may want look at a Ram mount for the trolling motor head. See where the head is in your pictures ? It sure saves the head of the motor if you get caught in 2 footers. It only takes 30 min to install. You just have to remember to loosen it when you stop to fish or you could do a header over the bow.LOL

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I'm jealous of that whole picture, boat, motor, trailer, AND garage! My boat currently sits in the garage while the truck and other cars sit out also. Hoping that will change soon... I have the "old style" Navigator that is narrower, a little less finished, and rated to a max 60hp tiller. Mine wears a 50 4 stroke Mercury. I really enjoy fishing from that boat. Quite a lot of room for a 16 foot boat, and I feel like it handles fairly rough water well. I have also fished out of a new style like yours. That one has a Console and 90 Etec on it. Nice package too. Seems to take on big waves very nicely. I always wonder what the room would be like in that one with a tiller also. I love tiller boats! Great looking trailer under it too. I would say that will be well worth the extra $700. Have fun with that new rig, it's a beauty! Tucker Edited by curleytail 4/21/2011 8:00 PM

Posts: 67 | The "shop" was built this last summer (8 months ago), although my garage is pretty clutter free as well, but not like that......LOL. Thanks for the compliments guys......you're making me appreciate the rig (and shop) even more then I did. This my 1st 4 stroker boat motor.....I cant believe how quiet it is! I have had many boats (mostly fishing), some tiller, some councel......for what I'm doing (fishing), I went back to the "good 'ol tiller"! Love the clean floor and space. I am definatly gonna explore some new waters with it......Boulder, Mercer, Flowages, etc. It seems I always go to Arbor Vita (Big and Litttle) and a few other Minoqua lakes. Looks like decent weather Sunday and Monday.......I'm taken 'er out, even with no locater.....LOL.
