Posts: 139 Location: Slippery Rock, PA | I need some ideas on how to mount my racor. I have a lund rebel and want to mount it in the bilge area but have no idea what to mount it to or what I should use for mounting, (bolts, screws, etc). I'm looking for some help here! Thanks. Posts: 433 Location: Cedarburg, Wisconsin | I'm guessing you must have a good reason for putting it in the bilge area. I've always had my filters mounted to the side of the boat in the splashwell area so I had easy access to it for changing the filter every year. Plus with my Raccor the see through bowl is easily seen up high in the splashwell area to check for water being trapped in the bowl. I had to cut a couple pieces of aluminum to make a bracket for the filter and attached them with wellnuts as the sides of my Tuffy X-190 were just too low for clearance to the bottom of the splashwell, but it works fine and is easy to service and that was the whole idea. If it is too hard to get at you'll be tempted to ignore the filter after a while.

Has any one had any vapor lock issues - the filters are specd to be mounted out of the sunlight so I'm guessing that is why he wants to mount in the bilge - I'm getting ready to mount mine on this weekend. Got a C-liner 1650/tiller any other tips?

Posts: 512 | I just put one on my boat. 1750 crestliner fishhawk. wasnt to bad. mounted it in the back because i saw that it said to not mount it in the sun too. But i noticed in the instructions it says not recommended for use on engines with electronic fuel pumps.. I have an EFI, so not sure if that is what they mean.. all ready had it all hooked up, so tried it and it worked. anyone else hear of this?? thanks Dave Edited by Dave T. 4/8/2011 8:55 PM

Posts: 742 Location: Grand Rapids MN | What kind/brand of seperator did you use? I don't know if all types of EFI require electric fuel pumps but if you have to use a primer bulb then chances are you don't have an elec. pump. But if you don't have to prime then you have an elec. pump. I can hear my pump kick on and prime on my Merc EFI 4-stroke when I turn the key on.

Posts: 291 Location: New Jersey | I have a lund Explorer SS, and i am a little gun shy of drilling anywhere in my boat (did something really stupid once). Does anybody have pics or advice of where, why and how they installed theirs in a Lund or similar? What size is the hose coming from the tank? It looks huge? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Rob

Posts: 139 Location: Slippery Rock, PA | I finally added the water seperator yesterday and here's where I put it. I did add two primer bulbs to the lines, one before the seperator and one after. I read from someone online that suggested it and figured it could not hurt. Wasn't hard at all. You may want to change the inlet side to a 90 degree fitting, hard to tell by the picture but looks like it maybe a spot where the line could kink.
