Hey everybody, just figured I would drop a line and let you know about a cool product.
I just got a couple new pairs of sunglasses from a company called Zeal Optics. Some of you extreme sports peeps may have already checked them out.

I got one Polarized pair called the Emit. They are a large boxier type model.
And then I got a pair of the Photochromatic / Polarized wrap around model called the Maestro.

The frames are really well constructed and solid, and they both have shatterproof NXT ballistic lenses, but the neat thing, is the Maestro's have Photochromatic lenses that self adjust the tint due to lighting conditions. I wore them for the 1st time today and all I can say is sweet. Up until now, I have used a lot of brands especially Costa 580's and various Maui Jim's. I'm looking forward to soft water to give these a true look see.

They retail well under $200, even for the polarized Photochrome lenses.
Emit ($110) and the Maestro ($170)

They have a pretty nice website you can directly purchase from - They're sick!

"GUEST" DISCLAIMER - I purchased both pairs full retail. (Don't tell my wife) I do not have a deal with them...Yet.

Jerry;  Maui Jim's has the best optics, frame Quality, and warranty of any sunglass company out there. That is coming from an optician I happen to know that has bought sunglass wear for more than 20 years experience, and Maui Jims  sunglasses for more than 25 years in business.

As someone who has literally lived in sunglasses for a better part of their life, at one time I believed that. But I have had a couple pairs of Maui's completely deteriorate in the past. Frames warp and the finish on the lenses flake. I still love my newer Maui Jims though. The pairs I had problems with were almost 10 years ago, and the frame was called the Volcano I believe. I've got several pairs of newer models, and I will say they have improved.

Currently, I have Maui's, Costa 580's, H30's, Kaenon's, Spotters (Aussie) and Zeal optics. The Zeal's are obviously new so the jury is out on that one. I've been using Maui's since the late 90's and Costa's since 2001 - IMO, Costa has the best lenses in the 580, however their customer support stinks. Maui's were garbage for a while but they are coming back strong. I like a lot of the new models. Kaenon's are mediocre - better for the fashion crowd - H30 - construction is weak, but I like the polarclear lens for really low light conditions. The Spotters I picked up in Cairns Australia last year and are awesome! I have one pair of the amber lens. They are pretty sweet.

I have owned them all as well, and agree the Costa 580's are the best of the best for fishing. I wear Maui Jim's for everyday and driving. I picked up a pair of Zeals a while back, and agree with Jerry on these too. Great designs, fit, styling, and so far really like the PPX polarized lens. I will be on the water this weekend to test them out for fishing.
