Anyone have a conditions report for the Chain yet?

Regardless, let's use this thread for that moving forward.

I believe the Southern lakes are open, not sure about the Northern lakes though.

Thanks for the updates boys. Probably give it a couple weeks before wasting time out there.

i am starting to really get into musky fishing this year and will only be fishing the chain greatly . i launch at the state park, was wondering of when will be a good time to get out there and start fishing? which lakes? at what water temperatures? any hot baits? i wanted to hit the prespawn, so anyone know where i can find current acurate water temperatures of the lakes> website ? also what lakes are good in the early summer late spring and into summer, and also any techniques or baits to try? and what depths and locations to concentrate on? sorry for all the questions, just want to have the best odds of cathing fish!

Might want to consider hiring a guide out there. There are lots of good ones out there. Capt. Ben Modica, Capt. Doug Kloet, and others that I can't think of off hand. They can help you get dialed in throughout the year.

Other then that, if the lakes are open, the fish will be biting. I tend to throw cranks and dawgs when water temps are high 30s to high 40s, then minnow baits and some gliders during the spawn as well as cranks just outside of spawning areas. Once the Wisconsin season opens, I stop fishing the Chain for the year, so can't help much for late spring, summer, fall, etc.

The Chain is open at least as far north as Marie. Did not check Catherine or Channel.

It must be all open by now, I live on Wonderlake near there and after the rains last Sunday the ice was all gone.

Game on boys! I'm impressed with the 10" Warlock this year, should continue to produce.
I'm on FRV Fishing Reports for the year.

Have fun and be safe guys!
