Although I have fished muskies for over 30 years I have never fished suckers.
This is probably because in Ontario we are only allowed only 1 line. It would be hard to justify having 4 or 5 hundred lures and then buying live bait. Also the closest baitshop is about 20 miles away.

My question is what size suckers do you prefer and what do you have to pay for them?
I see in Tanner Wildes new DVD he used a hamer handle pike this I could do I will have to check the legality in Ontario.

I'm 99.99% sure that you can NOT use game fish or pan fish for bait in Ontario.

In the fall on St. Clair guys will use 12" to 18" & even bigger sometimes. Watch this weeks episode of The Next Bite. They fished St. Clair with suckers.

We fish with suckers and the bigger the better (12" to 17"). This past fall the bigger ones were scarce and we stopped at every bait shop on the way to Musky camp. We ended up with 20 real nice ones and paid $5-$8 a piece. All fish caught by me and my boat partner were on suckers.

Pick up Gregg Thomas's new video Road Rules. He explains exactly how to fish suckers-rigs and everything. Use the biggest you can find.

Don't use them they don't work.

But you can buy some great sucker rigs on my website.
