I am looking from a little info on area lakes and lodging. I might be taking my son to a hockey camp for a week in August and was wondering if anyone could suggest some good musky lakes besides the well known ones like Mille Lacs, Cass, Leech, etc. Also, if you know of a good reasonably priced resort on a good lake, even better. Would prefer to stay on a smaller promising lake and possibly do a day trip or two to one of the bigger ones weather permitting.

Thanks...

If you're in Deerwood, Cedar is probably your closest musky lake. Lots of little bays/places to investigate...

Can't help with resorts.

We fished Cedar one day a couple of years ago. Very nice lake. Very very clear water. Didn't see any muskies but I know they are in there! Caught a lot of small pike and a couple decent ones.
