Posts: 322 | http://www.joessportinggoods.us/03628202944.html I noticed this sale and thought I should share it. They currently have 53 in stock. I wish I was left handed right about now. They have free shipping on orders over $75 and they are located in ST Paul MN if your local.

Posts: 2894 Location: Yahara River Chain | I'm not left handed but for the life of me I can't stand passing the rod from one hand to the other. Thanks for the heads up I picked one up. I see on the Abu-Garcia web site that you can get a free black Abu hoodie with a purchase for only $11.95 for s&h. Nice!

Posts: 1460 Location: Kronenwetter, WI | Some good deals are available on ebay if you're willing to watch the auctions for a few days. Do an advanced search on ebay to view completed auctions and you might be surprised how little some guys are paying for toros. I picked up a 50 Toro for 148 a while back.

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | That is a great deal. Too bad for me that it's only for the 5.4:1 ratio reel & not the 6.4:1 reel.

Posts: 45 | Great deal, down to 47 left after I got one last night. I'm right handed but I use both right and left handed reels - not as sore at the end of the day.

All i need to do is reinforce it a bit and then its ready for my Okuma EVX 8'6 8oz :D What are you going to do to it to reinforce it? My Record 50 took a crap on me after 3 seasons of abuse. I want to rebuild it but would like to replace the plastic gears that drive the worm gear with brass gears.

Posts: 1270 | Zib, You do not want to replace the nylon cog gear with brass ones - trust me I've done it and it's not something you want to do. When metal gears spin at that speed it's noisy to say the least. Plus it also cost casting distance and if something gets caught in the line guide your $2.00 nylon gear will break (like it's supposed to) instead of it breaking a much more expensive part.

Thanks for that info. I'll just replace the plastic gear with a new one. It's already noisy when I cast. I love the casting distance that I get with the Record so don't want to do anything to affect that.
