How does it compare to Mend-IT? The descriptions of the two seem very similar. I bought a 1 oz. bottle of Mend-IT from MTO, for only $10, so I'm good for awhile. Just wondering if Shack Attack makes a better product as they are actually in the musky business.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI		Andy was doing a demonstration at the Chicago show. He would cut a Sue, and just brush a little in the cut, and voila! Back to normal. I've never seen Mend-it before, so can't compare, but after seeing this stuff, had to have some.

I assumed they were the same. I played around with my Mend-It last night for something to do. Awesome stuff. Go get a bottle of it or Lure Weld.

Yes it works, very well, best if you let it set up over night, but will hold in less then 5 mins. In the boat fix I will mix ACETONE with Oatey can about 20% so it sets up faster.

I was curious if anyone had tried that. As soon as I opened the lid that was the first thing that came to mind. That Oatey stuff is pretty messy from my experience. Maybe with a small, fingernail polish-type brush it would be better. Those stupid cotton balls they have on the end suck.

I have been sitting on a few gallons of this glue for quite some time and never had the time to bring it to market. I use it a lot when playing around with different designs and prototypes.
My glue is similar to the other brand, but I am going to make it thinner, a little more runny. This means that it will have a longer shelf life once you have opened the bottle a several times when using it. I will only use ½ oz bottles as well, with the 1oz bottles, I have found that the glue (if thicker to start with) will be even thicker by the time you get half way through the bottle. Then you either have to use MEK thinners (which is not cheap and the average guy does not have) too thin it down or buy a replacement bottle. In my experience using the ½ oz bottle will work out more cost effective in the long run.

As for the PVC stuff from Menards, I will get some this weekend and do a back to back test. Un-like that PVC stuff, you don’t have to leave the Lure Weld repaired lures over night for best results, only 5-10 minutes max.
I doubt it’s the same stuff, but if it is, then I will buy that and just re-bottle it!
