Location: New Hope MN | So I was making some new bucktails and my girlfriend came down to watch. "Oh wow so pretty! Can you make me a zebra one?"
I was thinking maybe a plastic sheet i could cut up, but have no idea where to find something like that?
Any other ideas? |

Location: Racine, Wi | What are you making it out of? You can just alternate black and white of the materials you have, then a black and white blade. Orrrr, take all white and then after tying, just use a black marker to create the zebra patterns.
Depending on the material, black and white tend to end up fading together so you get a black and grey bait (at least with hackle and marribou). I don't think I've had the same issue with acutal deer hair. |

I had thought of a black marker and white bucktail hair, but the marker fades after awhile. Then i was hoping to get some kids Zebra stickers and put them over one or both blades. I'd probably make the 2nd blade purple.
My other idea is to find some kind of vinyl plastic sheet w/ Zebra pattern... maybe at a crafts store? then cut it up after tying it on. I know it won't last, but hell she'll only use it a few times next summer anyways.
Thanks for the input |

| I did this bucktail for my brother. Waterslide decal on the blade and alternated orange, brown, and black on the tail. The photo doesn't show that too well though.
Sorry can't resize the pic.
