Over the years i have spent a lot of time in Vilas county, but it has always been in St Germain, Fence Lake Chain, Arbor Vitae ares. I thinking of heading a bit further north w/ my father in law in early June and wanted to get your impressions on the overall fishing of a few lakes in Presque Isle area. Here are a few on my list of lakes that i'm considering trying out this this summer: Big (off of Hwy K), Wildcat & Lynx, Oxbow, Palmer & Tenderfoot, and Presque Isle/Van Vliet. I'm thinking mostly smallmouth/walleye fishing in early june ( to make my father in law happy) with a bit of musky and then will probably come back in early sept to focus more on muskies. Just wanted to pick your brains to see if some of you have been on these lakes and what you like/don't like about them. i'm not looking for any spots, just opinions as to where my time would be best spent as again i'm interested in learing some new water and trying out a few of these lakes in Vilas county but will probably have time to really only focus on 2 or 3 of them. Thanks in advance!
