A Tek-nek is a sub-surface chop/glide bait. They run sort of like a wabull if you use rapid downward twitches. They are harder to work than a wabull because they are lighter and quite a bit more buoyant. They won’t glide as far side to side as a typical glider, which is why they are more of a chop bait. They’ll move up-down-right-left and are very erratic, but can also be a little difficult to keep sub-surface. They are a great little bait and I used to catch quite a few fish on them every year, but as the years have gone by I’ve gotten lazy and don’t like to work that hard to catch fish. My forearms and wrists can’t take running a tek-nek for very long anymore. Definitely a bait that can trigger fish when other baits won’t. The offset weighting in the head is what gives it the irregular swinging action.

There are also many styles and weighted versions of the bait. Some have a small scooped head, some have a larger beveled head. Some have alot of weights in them, some don't. Some glide horizontal with a belly roll, others go all directions a bit like an undertaker. Some have ball bearing swivels for the line tie and hook hangers. Some don't. Alot depends on what one you have.
