Subject: Actual measurement of Minn Kota shafts...

I'm trying to determine which shaft length I can get away with using on my boat. I do not have access to an actual motor to measure myself here so I'm asking for your help. My question is this. If I buy a transom mount Minn Kota with a 46" shaft, where is the 46" measurement taken from? Is it measured from the center of the prop to where the bracket bottoms out on your transom or is it from the motor head to the bottom of the lower unit. I hope this was clear enouhg. Thanks for any help you can give me. P.S. I already know about the charts for determining the proper shaft length etc. Thanks again, Russell.

The measurement is from the middle of the head down to the middle of the prop housing.
