Location: Fridley MN | Harriet is open. Web cam shows corner of boat ramp free of ice. Pretty sure the boat launch by the sherriffs station is open on Tonka. Was Completely clean of ice on Wed. Web cam that looks out to Big Island shows open water. St. Croix has a few landings free also. I am driving around today to see whats open for Sat and Sun. Its going to be above freezing on Sun. Iwill post later today with what I find. If anybody has info on any other lakes in the metro please chime in!

Posts: 3149 | like I said in the other metro post,,,,,think "cement" and you will find open water why???????????????? because lakes that are surrounded by cement,,say roads that go around a lakes whole crcumference ,bike paths, sidewalks and parking lots all have 'cement' and cement holds heat,,,, thus endeth the lesson

Posts: 3149 | HHound most metro lakes do not have the combination of roads, bike paths, walking paths, parking lots and some degree of capped shoreline in cement. whats the enemy of trout streams,,beavers and alot of cement close by,they raise the water temps why do you think the MPL's city lakes stay open the latest has small has they are Edited by happy hooker 11/26/2010 4:32 PM

Posts: 315 | It's from the depth of the lakes, human fault "co2" traffic in the city...its naturally going to have a warming effect in the city, and the trails and cement as you stated. Prayer helps as well! Calhoun and Harriet will be the last to freeze along with browns bay. 2 nights ago you could still launch at the wayzata bay launch as well and guessing you still can. Go get some late season bruisers guys I have to work every day through thursday...LAME.

Posts: 158 | Some folks will internetfight about anything! Too funny. I will be bringing dynamite out to the launch tomorrow, just in case. There are launches open, Spring Park. Cooks and the Yatch Club. Plus everyone should know when those freeze you still have a day or two on the deep metro lakes, but we already about learned that. Good luck and be safe to all the last weekend warriors of the season.

Location: Fridley MN | VMS - 11/26/2010 4:36 PM St. Croix river is still wide open... VMS do you fish the St. Croix much? Any tips? I fished it a couple days last year with no luck and I was thinking of hitting it for the next couple of days.

Posts: 716 | Tonka is done... just toured it... 10am Saturday, wayzata is frozen out 1/4 mile, Spring Park the same, I didn't go to Cooks but with no wind last night it has to be done as well. Some open water in Crystal and Browns area if you want to drag a rowboat out. Sadly over.

Posts: 203 Location: Alexandria, Minnesota | I love it when you call a bait shop about suckers and they tell you that they have a ton of 14 to 16 inch suckers for sale. Confident that you have reserved the bait you are going to need,You don't bother calling any other places. Then you arrive at the shop to pick up your bait and the suckers they have are lucky if the go 10 inches. Wayzata bay should be open again tomorrow, I made sure to open up a big channel before I left.
