Posts: 1663 Location: Kodiak, AK | I need to replace some hooks on some 10" Jakes. Before I place an order and go by trial and error, anyone know what size they use so they balance and run well?

Posts: 1663 Location: Kodiak, AK | Cool. Just heard back from Drifter. They use 4/0's, which seem kinda small. Prob go with the 5/0.

Posts: 1663 Location: Kodiak, AK | Esox-Hunter - 11/15/2010 10:01 PM I agree with treats. Yeah, I ordered 5/0's. I think they'll work well. I know I always look at the factory hooks and just wish for a little more...

Posts: 2384 Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | I put 5/0 774's on most all my mid-small baits that will handle them. They're probably the best economical hook out there IMOP.

Posts: 958 | I have run 7/0 for all three hooks it seemed to help keep the bait down a little better casting with no effect on the action and it seemed to help with a higher hooking %. Trolled same way. Good luck, Jeff Hanson

Posts: 1663 Location: Kodiak, AK | Got the 5/0 774's this week, and put some on. They fit perfect, and look good. Thanks for the replies.
