Subject: Glass Eyes

This is my first thread on this forum and I would like to say I am truly humbled by the amount of talent I see here. That being said, now for my question.
I have been considering building some lures with glass eyes BUT! I have real questions as to their durability. I would like to hear your comments. Thanks Pappy

rocks will hurt them occasionally but they are a good option.

I think if you do allot of epoxy over them it gives the eyes some cushion. Atleast you have a few layers between the glass and the world.

i love using them. they make a bait look great in the water, but...they are very $$, and its best to use lots of epoxy. i mostly use them on big gliders i make.

They will really make your bait look sharp! Like other, use a few coats of epoxy over them. I have found some nice glass eyes at hobby shops and sewing shops. Far cheaper than buying actual glass eyes made for lures. If you are good you can also buy clear glass circles and paint the underside of them.
