| I think it depends on where you're fishing. Fish don't stop relating to the structure after turnover, so a good spot is still a good spot. They might not relate to it in the same way, or be right on top of it like they were during the warmer months, but "classic" structure, like a mid lake reef close to deep water, a point with a long "finger", or a shallow bar is still something that will attract fish. I might be wrong about this, but as far as I know, the absence of a thermocline during post-turnover only means that the fish can be found at greater depths. I'd work the deep edges of your favorite early fall structure. And fish SLOW. Dawgs, soft plastics in the big Joe tradition worked slow and close to the bottom, slow erratic gliders, depthraiders cranked down and twiched really slow... Personally, if the water is below about 50 degrees I'd be fishing live bait, running it a few feet off the bottom. Your feeding windows are going to be short, and there won't be many. But they still have to eat!
Suspended fish? I don't fish suspended mearly enough, and I know I am missing fish because of it. Can't even say much about it except to say this: If you're not finding them elsewhere, I'd bet that's where they are!
